About me
Nancy Whelan,PT is the owner and director of the West Palm Beach Physical Therapy Center. She has 32 years of experience in the practice of Physical Therapy.
Currently she sees orthopedic, geriatric, joint replacement, neck and back pain patients and has a particular interest in helping patients correct bad posture that causes pain as we age.
The goals of physical therapy are to restore or achieve optimal movement and function and relieve pain. Your personal goals for therapy are also important. One patient’s goal may be self-care and independence after a stroke while another patient may seek to overcome back pain, learn to walk with an artificial joint replacement, or return safely to athletics after injury.
Physical therapists are licensed professionals qualified to treat a variety of conditions such as arthritis, auto and sports related injuries, fractures and joint replacements, back pain, muscle sprains/strains and repetitive use injuries as well as postural problems that may cause neck and arm pain. Methods such as traction, exercise, paraffin, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, free weights and closed chain exercises may be used in your treatment.
